Beaches
Oman’s shoreline stretches for thousands of kilometers, where shifting tides reveal long beaches, hidden inlets, and coral reefs.
Oman’s shoreline stretches for thousands of kilometers, where shifting tides reveal long beaches, hidden inlets, and coral reefs.
Stretching along the eastern edge of the country, the coast provides both livelihood and seclusion. Fishing villages mark the shoreline, their boats and daily catch central to life by the sea. Between these communities lie wide, empty beaches and smaller bays where little has changed for centuries. The result is a coastline that is at once practical and remote, shaped by tradition yet open in its stillness.
Our coastal focus includes Barr Al Hikman, a vast peninsula of tidal flats, lagoons, and sandbanks where birdlife and glass-calm shallows create a rare sense of space. Alongside it, we curate private beaches across the coast for quiet swims, reef exploration, and elegant seaside setups far from crowds.
Camp on secluded stretches of coastline where the sound of waves defines the setting
Watch sunrise over the Arabian Sea as fishermen return with their morning catch
Swim and snorkel in waters with coral reefs, rays, and schools of fish
Enjoy seafood prepared by the shore, with sea breezes cooling the evening air
Explore nesting sites of turtles and tidal flats alive with coastal wildlife
Visit hidden coves and headlands accessible only by boat
Guided day into Barr Al Hikman’s tidal flats for birdwatching, tidal pools, and a private shoreline lunch
Secluded coves and private beach landings arranged with boats and 4x4 access where permitted
From Muscat, sheltered bays and fishing villages are reached within minutes, while longer drives reveal secluded beaches with no visible development.
Barr Al Hikman lies in Al Wusta and is planned as a full-day or multi-day outing with 4x4 support and tide-aware timing. It pairs well with our network of private beaches north and south of Muscat for a varied coastal itinerary.
